LexArts and South Hill Group form Partnership
The South Hill Group is pleased to support the 2009 Campaign for the Arts. The campaign is the single-largest fundraising effort of LexArts, the United Arts Fund and local area arts council serving Lexington and central Kentucky. We believe that arts is an important part of our community needs and we look to work closer with Lex Arts to bring some of the arts activities to the South Hill neighborhood.
South Hill Group has graciously agreed to match all contributions from residents. For every dollar donated by a Center Court resident, South Hill Group will match it. So please consider a donation to the 2009 Campaign for the Arts today and take advantage of the opportunity to double the impact of your gift. Visit www.lexarts.org and click the “Donate Now!” button. Be sure to note that you are a South Hill resident in the reference part of the form.
This year LexArts hopes to raise $1 million and will distribute most of that to other arts groups. Campaign proceeds also pay for programs and activities such as Gallery Hop (watch for an after-Hop event at South Hill soon), Arts Showcase Weekend, the Southern Circuit Film Festival and a variety of public and gallery exhibitions.
Proceeds from the 2008 Campaign provided general operating support for:
Lexington Philharmonic, $160,000
Lexington Children’s Theatre, $120,500
Living Arts & Science Center, $101,250
Actors Guild of Lexington, $70,000
Lexington Art League, $52,500
Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, $25,000
Other nonprofit organizations received $120,000 in Community Arts Grants for 24 programs or projects, twice the amount awarded in 2007.
Thanks to our Happy Residents: See them on our new website
When we decided to update our website and launch an advertising campaign for CenterCourt Phase 2, we looked no further than our residents to tell the story of CenterCourt living. It is our residents and retailers who make South Hill the place to live in Lexington. The finished piece can be viewed on our NEW and IMPROVED website. You'll also see these familiar faces in our TV ads. Thanks to those who opened their condos and shared their positive feelings about living in CenterCourt. We're certain you all are our best sales tool for selling Phase 2 and Cigar Flats. Thanks to Jonathon Alexander for finding the perfect models!

South Hill Group is now on FACEBOOK
Become a “fan” of South Hill Group on Facebook. We're trying to stay as hip as our residents and give you all a forum to post events, pictures and anything positive you'd like to share with all your Facebook friends and ours. You'll also find posts of events South Hill Group is throwing such as our most recent “Geeks Night Out” held at the former Starbucks location on February 19.
GEEKS Night Out
South Hill Group partnered with Commerce Lexington's “Geeks Night Out” on February 19 at the former Starbucks location. Approximately 100 self-proclaimed “geeks” gathered to network, eat Firehouse subs and learn about CenterCourt. Thanks to Chris Besten for opening up his condo for the tour. Thanks to Carrie Lear Milner and Jennifer Lear Eversole for leading the tours. Everyone had a great time!
Phase 2 Construction Update
Cold weather isn't slowing down the construction team for Phase 2 of CenterCourt. The first closings are scheduled for the end of March. The Phase II condos on South Mill Street are quickly coming to an end. The builder is putting the finishing touches on these condos as we prepare for closings toward the end of the month. The corridors are almost finished, with carpet being laid, and paint being touched up. On the Cedar Street condos, we’re beginning to install the cabinets and countertops, and hope to begin installing tile and bamboo/hardwood flooring by the month’s end.
We recently met with a fellow CenterCourt resident, Morgan McIlwain, of M2D Design Group, who has put together a wonderfully exciting landscaping plan for our many CenterCourt courtyards. We love the concept they've created and know you’ll love spending time in these beautifully designed exterior spaces.
We're excited to continue the growth of CenterCourt in 2009. Look for more events, more fun and more interactive ways to share information with your friends in the neighborhood. We're out to show all of Lexington, CenterCourt is the best place to live.
